Two separate school safety incidents unfolded across Texas on Thursday, prompting swift responses from law enforcement and heightened security protocols at both campuses.

In Guadalupe County, Seguin High School was cleared of students and staff following a report of potential danger on campus shortly after the final bell. Police and fire personnel arrived at the school around 4:30 p.m. after receiving notification of an alleged bomb and weapons threat, according to Seguin Police Assistant Chief Rusty Suarez. Authorities conducted a comprehensive search of the facility to investigate the claims.

Roughly 100 miles away in Montgomery County, school resource officers at Willis High School moved quickly to detain a 15-year-old student after the teenager allegedly made statements suggesting plans to open fire on classmates inside a classroom. The student was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center, where authorities formally charged the minor with making a terroristic threat.

The Willis High School incident marks the second serious school safety concern at the campus in as many days. On Wednesday, a separate student was arrested after administrators discovered a firearm inside the teenager's backpack at school.
