TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A Smith County deputy has been arrested and placed on administrative leave, the sheriff's office confirms.

According to Smith County Sgt. Clayton Taylor, Mark Anthony Morales was placed on administrative leave following his arrest for assault causing bodily injury to a family member.

He was arrested on Saturday, and released early on Sunday after posting bond.
