(KGNS) - City leaders in Laredo are considering sending the debate over Flock safety cameras to the ballot for a public vote.

With the system's future in question, taxpayers face the potential cost of both the cameras and a standalone election.

For months, Flock cameras throughout Laredo have read license plates of passing vehicles.
