Live roaches force Smoke Skybar to close, despite owner citing a 'plumbing issue'

Smoke Skybar, a barbecue restaurant and bar in San Antonio, closed after Metro Health inspectors discovered live roaches during a routine inspection.

A popular barbecue joint and bar east of downtown San Antonio shut down over the weekend after Metro Health inspectors discovered a pest problem, according to a health inspection report.

Behind the Kitchen Door is a series where KSAT investigates health inspections of restaurants in and around San Antonio.

A Metro Health inspector visited Smoke Skybar, which is located on 1100 East Houston Street, Aug. 22.
