HEARNE, Texas (KBTX) - Hearne ISD leadership is addressing families following the school board's vote earlier this week to terminate the contract of Hearne Elementary School Principal Marsha Shico.

In a letter sent to families, Interim Superintendent Travis Weatherspoon acknowledged the leadership change, writing that the decision to propose terminating the contract "was not taken lightly" and that district officials recognize leadership transitions naturally raise questions and concerns.

The letter thanked Shico for her dedication, hard work and commitment to students, staff and the school community.
