Scout, Texas A&M University-San Antonio's victim assistance dog, is helping university police create a more supportive environment for students and others who may be going through difficult experiences.
Sgt. Karen Tucker-Engel said Scout works alongside university police to provide comfort, reduce anxiety and support people who may need help after a stressful or traumatic situation.
Victim assistance dogs are often used to help create a sense of safety during conversations that can be difficult or emotional.
