SMITH COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - Law enforcement and first responders are on the scene of a fatal crash on Highway 31 East near Tyler, according to a release.

Smith County Emergency Services District 2 said around 5:36 a.m. Sunday morning ESD personnel began working a fatal crash on Hwy 31 and County Road 211. Eastbound traffic is completely closed down while westbound traffic is being monitored and controlled by personnel on the scene.

Drivers are advised to please seek an alternate route.
