(KGNS) - Drivers traveling on I-35 in Laredo should prepare for lane closures on Sunday, Sept. 27, as crews repair the pavement.

The closures will affect both northbound and southbound lanes at mile marker 1 and the end of the freeway, spanning a four-block stretch between Victoria Street and International (Juarez-Lincoln) Bridge II. Maintenance is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the lane restrictions will allow the TxDOT Laredo Maintenance Section to carry out pavement repairs in a mobile operation.

TxDOT urged drivers to reduce their speed, watch for work crews, merge safely into open lanes, and exercise caution while traveling through the work zone.
