ALVIN, Texas - Alvin police say a case where a 5-year-old child was left outside a day care in a locked van will be presented before a grand jury for consideration of criminal charges.

The incident happened on Monday at approximately 5:45 p.m. when officers were summoned to a child endangerment call at a day care in the 500 block of Davis Bend Road.

Officers determined the 5-year-old was locked inside the van driven by an employee of the day care after being picked up from school.
