COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - A driver is recovering after crashing into construction equipment on a closed section of Finfeather Road, after police say the vehicle went around barricades meant to keep traffic out.
The crash happened in the 3600 block of Finfeather Road, in the area where Bryan and College Station meet, according to a statement from Bryan police."Single vehicle accident. Road was closed due to construction going on and barricades were in place to close the road. Vehicle disregarded the barricades and drove through them striking an excavator parked in the construction area. Single occupant operating the vehicle was transported to the ER with minor non-life-threatening injuries. Crash was in the 3600 block of Finfeather Rd. Driver cited for Disregarding Official Traffic Control Devices."Bryan Police DepartmentNo one was operating the excavator at the time of the crash.
College Station officials tell KBTX the excavator belonged to the construction company and has already been replaced.
