Brownwood Fire Chief Eric Hicks shared with BrownwoodNews.com Wednesday evening that the Brownwood Fire Department was dispatched to the 3M plant in Brownwood at approximately 3:45 p.m. Wednesday to assist Atmos with a reported gas leak.

"Upon arrival, 3M did a plant wide evacuation of all personnel, but there was no fire, no injuries, and no immediate danger," Hicks said.

The 3M plant is still evacuated and temporarily closed, Hicks added, and reiterated there is no current threat due to the gas leak.
