(KGNS) - Four candidates running for Laredo mayor laid out competing plans on business permitting, water security and economic growth at a forum hosted by the Laredo Chamber of Commerce.
Alyssa Cigarroa said outdated city systems, including GIS maps that are not up to date, can make it harder for investors to see Laredo's growth potential."We currently have a system that's called AS400, and it's from 1988. And I personally believe that that is an issue and has been one of the biggest obstacles that our city has faced," Cigarroa said.
Cigarroa also called for investment in downtown, arts and culture to keep young people in Laredo.
