SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) - Families in Sherman got a head start on the upcoming school year Sunday at the third annual Beyond the Walls Outreach Back to School Bash, picking up backpacks, receiving physicals, and getting free haircuts.

The event was a partnership between Beyond the Walls Outreach, the City of Sherman, and the Sherman Police Department.

Community resources and vendors were also on site, including Texas Star, Carrus Behavioral Health, Emerald Medical School, and Aspire and Heritage apartments.
