LUFKIN, Texas (KTRE) - Angelina County commissioners approved spending $1,500 from the legal services budget to hire an attorney to draft a road use agreement with AMP Z Champion Data Center Holdings LLC. The proposed AMP Z data center would occupy more than 1,000 acres at the former Southland paper mill site on Highway 103 East.

Before construction, the company wants to close part of a nearby road.

County Judge Keith Wright said the proposed closure would affect Twin Oaks Road and John Kolb Road, limiting access from Twin Oaks Mobile Home Park to Highway 103."They wouldn't be able to go to the south all the way to 103," Wright said.
