After three shootings involving children and teenagers in or around Harris County in the past week, nine local and international organizations are coming together to address gun violence and its root causes.

The coalition is called One Safe HTX - or One Safe Houston - and brings together organizations working in different areas of violence prevention, including mental health, community partnerships, survivor services, peacebuilding and youth intervention.

The coalition also has two national partners and plans to bring additional groups into the effort.
