LACY LAKEVIEW, Texas (KWTX) - Summer has officially come to an end for students in Connally ISD as they return to campus Tuesday, marking the beginning of a school year defined by significant structural changes and new leadership.

The district is now operating under a Texas Education Agency (TEA) state intervention, a move first announced last December.

Heading into the new school year, a newly appointed superintendent, Dr. Josie Gutierrez, alongside a state-assigned Board of Managers, are officially at the helm.
