LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - A nonprofit formed earlier this year is working alongside the Hale County Drug Court to provide financial support for participants who need basic essentials while working through the program.

The Llano Estacado Treatment Court Foundation officially formed as a 501c3 in March and operates parallel to the Hale County Drug Court.

Foundation treasurer Monica Thompson said the organization fills in where government funding for the drug court falls short."We step in when the government funding cannot provide. Usually, the drug court counselors already have the information on what [the drug court participants] need, and then it goes to us, and we provide it," Thompson said.
