ELM MOTT, Texas (KWTX) - The historic Heart O' Texas Speedway has been put up for sale following the recent passing of one of its owners, track management announced.

In a public statement, track officials described the decision as unexpected and difficult, noting that the property must now be sold following the co-owner's death."This is a post we never thought we would have to make, and it's certainly not an easy one," track representatives said.

"Following the passing of one of the owners of Heart O' Texas Speedway, unfortunately the property now has to be sold.
