WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Tax-free weekend runs Friday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 9, but many Central Texas parents are already filling their carts ahead of the rush.

Some shoppers said they are deliberately avoiding the tax-free weekend crowds.

"It's going to be super busy next weekend and I think Baylor move-in is happening, so I think we will probably stay home next weekend," Waco mom Melanie Young said.
