(KGNS) - The Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is preparing for its annual Update in Medicine conference, a virtual event covering topics including diabetes, GLP-1 medication and mental health.

The conference is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is free and open to all community members.

Dr. Julie Bazan with AHEC said the program has operated for more than 30 years.
