WACO, Texas (KWTX) - McLennan County Judge Scott M. Felton issued an outdoor burn ban declaration Tuesday in response to extreme heat and drought conditions.

Local weather forecasts indicate dry, windy conditions are projected to continue, with no expectation of rainfall coming up.

In the declaration, Felton cites outdoor burning in rural areas of McLennan county are banned because dry conditions make this a public safety hazard.
