NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - For the first time in more than two decades, manufactured homes can legally be placed on residential lots in Nacogdoches - and the city is now in compliance with a new state law requiring it.
The Nacogdoches City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night on all three steps required to comply with Senate Bill 785, a state law that prohibits Texas cities from outright banning HUD-code manufactured homes in residential areas.
The law takes effect September 1.
