BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - Bryan Texas Utilities is holding a series of open houses this week to give the public a chance to weigh in on a proposed extreme high voltage transmission line.

BTU kicked off the first of three meetings focused on the project.

Spokesperson Meagan Brown said the line would keep power reliable and support the area's growing demand."It's approximately a 40-mile line between Texas New Mexico Power, and one of their substations that is going to connect to a planned piece of a substation here at the Rellis campus," Brown said.
