GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - Each year, thousands of children from around the area come to Gainesville's historic district to trick-or-treat.

"We've got to take care of these kids. That's the bottom line for me," Phillips said.

For two years, Martin Phillips has asked the city of Gainesville to close South Denton Street-one of the busiest streets in the district-on Halloween night.
