Democrats also won most county races, and Taylor native Chris Jiminez defeated Republican incumbent Caroline Harris Davila for Texas House of Representatives District 52.
In the federal race that drew national attention to Texas, James Talarico will represent the state as its newest U.S. Senator, defeating incumbent Ken Paxton.
