The ALSA Car Club brought the community together Saturday for a brisket plate fundraiser to help longtime Big Spring resident Albert Ontiveros with medical expenses related to his upcoming knee surgery.

The benefit was held at the ALSA Clubhouse, located at 803 North Lamesa Highway, where volunteers began serving meals around 11 a.m. Community members stopped by throughout the day to enjoy a meal while supporting Ontiveros and his family.

Each $15 plate included sliced brisket, sausage, potato salad, beans, a drink and dessert.
