Oak Creek Elementary fifth grade students entered Avri DiPietro's science class on Sept. 4 with a single mission in mind - work together to navigate the asteroid belt, retrieve objects and determine whether their density predictions were correct.

In each team, one student served as mission control, guiding a blindfolded classmate, or astronaut, to retrieve the objects.

While searching for objects, the astronaut could not touch the pieces of construction paper representing asteroids, or it would trigger an immediate mission reset.
