HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KWTX/Newsource) - Authorities are investigating a Tuesday afternoon shooting near Westfield High School that left a 15-year-old student dead.

The shooting happened shortly after classes let out for the day.

Investigators noted the incident did not take place on school grounds.
