BAYTOWN, Texas - The Baytown Police Department says a wanted fugitive died after falling unconscious and suffering a medical emergency as officers were attempting to bring him into custody Tuesday.

It happened in the 4300 block of Crosby-Cedar Bayou Road when officers conducted a traffic stop on a fugitive wanted by the Chambers County Sheriff's Office for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

During the stop, police say the wanted subject and a second individual refused to comply with officers' commands.
