(KGNS) - The next few days could determine what happens to the burned DoubleTree and when nearby streets can reopen.

Mayor Victor Trevio said the city needs an expert opinion by the end of this week on whether the building can be safely stabilized.

If it can't, the city may begin planning a coordinated demolition.
