TYLER, Texas (KLTV) -An East Texas family is begging for answers and pleading with the community to break its silence after a 19-year-old UT Tyler student was shot and killed outside his home late Friday night.

According to the Smith County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 6000 block of County Road 1215 near Flint around 10:20 p.m. Friday, where they found Victor Bravo Lopez dead from apparent gunshot wounds outside his duplex.

Now, his loved ones are left grappling with a senseless act of violence that has shattered their family and left an East Texas community in mourning."I just couldn't understand why somebody would do something like this to him," his oldest sister, Grecia Bravo Lopez, said.
