A 14-year-old boy died and three others sustained injuries following an exchange of gunfire in a Bryan residential area Saturday night, authorities said.
D'Antwon Miles was transported to St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead the following day, according to the Bryan Police Department. The shooting occurred in the 1200 block of 17th Street when rival groups engaged in crossfire, investigators said.
In addition to Miles, three others were wounded in the incident. A 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy both received treatment for their injuries and were subsequently discharged from area hospitals. A 42-year-old woman was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital with injuries that were listed as stable, police said.
The gunfire extended beyond human casualties. Investigators documented that three separate vehicles sustained bullet damage—two in the immediate vicinity of the shooting at the 1200 block of 17th Street and a third vehicle located in the 900 block of Harlem Lane.
