BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - The College Station ISD made addressed the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce at their monthly legislative affairs meeting.

Superintendent Tim Harkrider shared that College Station ISD is keeping its tax rate low while pointing to academic growth, athletic accomplishments, and completed bond projects, While some districts are deciding to have a voter-approval tax rate election, College Station ISD decided not to pursue a voter-approval tax rate election because it wants to keep more money in the district."We've already done that. So, for us to come back now, it would be for the copper pennies, and we're just not in a position right now that we want to ask our community to raise a tax rate where half of that money would go back to the state of Texas, and we wouldn't be able to keep it all," Harkrider explained.

The district's tax rate is the lowest it has been, Harkrider said.
