The Schreiner University football team earned a thrilling 31-28 victory over Southwestern University on Saturday night at Tivy Stadium, with sophomore kicker Bryce Warren connecting on a 33-yard field goal as time expired to give the Mountaineers their second win of the season.

The Pirates opened the scoring with an 87-yard touchdown pass midway through the first quarter, but the Mountaineers answered on their next possession.

Junior quarterback Isaac Ponce rushed for a 28-yard touchdown with 3:57 remaining in the opening quarter to even the score at 7-7.
