TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - Tyler's street network is currently earning a passing grade, but city leaders are being warned that conditions will deteriorate over the next five years without millions in additional funding.

On Wednesday, the Tyler City Council reviewed findings from a comprehensive pavement study conducted by engineering consultant Applied Research Associates (ARA).

The evaluation scored Tyler's paved roads an average of 76. 2 out of 100 on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI), placing the overall system in the "satisfactory" category."Citywide, the PCI average was 76. 2, which just like in grade school is passing," said city engineer Cody Bain.
