ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Firefighters from across Texas gathered Monday to honor Odessa firefighter and paramedic Eric Handlin.

Before the funeral service, an honor guard procession made its way down 7th Street and into First Baptist Church.

Lt. Andrew McElroy with the Odessa Fire Rescue Pipe and Drum Corps said serving as the honor guard all comes down to support."I'm here for the family, I'm here for my department and my fellow brothers, and it's such a wonderful process being able to be here and give in this fashion, because you'll see with everyone here today, we have guys from New Mexico, all the way to clear across the state of Texas in Vidor," McElroy said.
