Howard County has been awarded $350,000 in state funding to help strengthen local ambulance and emergency medical services.
The Texas Comptroller's Office updated its Rural Ambulance Service Grants awards on Oct. 1, listing Howard County among 152 Texas counties receiving funding through the program for fiscal year 2026.
The grant program provides money to rural counties to purchase ambulances and equipment needed to put those vehicles into service.
