The Gillespie County Fair Association's 30th annual Scholarship Fest raised nearly $100,000 to support scholarships for local students.

The Sept. 19 event at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds marked three decades of the community fundraiser, which supports students pursuing higher education.

To date, the GCFFA Scholarship Fund has awarded 994 scholarships totaling $820,100.
